KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The victim of a Kalamazoo shooting has been identified as 33-year-old Shequita Lewis, a County Board of Commissioners hopeful.
Lewis ran for Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners last fall, only losing by a narrow margin.
Police were dispatched to Lewis’s home after reports of gunfire, when they found her with a gunshot wound to the chest.
She was sent to Bronson Hopsital where she was later pronounced dead.
The suspect was arrested and was identified as the father of two of Lewis’ children.
