HOLLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man is dead after being pulled from Lake Michigan by beachgoers.
It happened near Holland on Saturday when bystanders noticed the man struggling in the water. A call to 9-1-1 was placed around 4:30 p.m. with Ottawa County Sheriffs’ Deputies responding less than 10 minutes later. Despite efforts to revive the victim, he pronounced dead at the scene.
The National Weather Service reported three to five foot waves, an undertow and 20 to 30 mph winds.
