JEROME, MI (WTVB) – A 47-year-old Jerome man was taken into custody early Friday morning after he allegedly assaulted his adult son and later threatened three of his son’s co-workers with a shotgun.
The Michigan State Police at Jackson say it happened at a residence on Chicago Road in Hillsdale County’s Somerset Township.
They say the alleged assault took place before the son went to work.
The shotgun threat happened at the suspect’s home after the arrival of his son and the co-workers.
The co-workers were able to leave the residence and call 911.
The suspect was convinced by Troopers to come out peacefully, which he did and was taken into custody without further incident.
The suspect was lodged at Hillsdale County Jail on a felonious assault charge. Troopers were assisted by deputies from the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department.
