CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Calhoun County woman facing a felony charge of concealing the death of her mother is now facing an additional charge of embezzlement.
46-year-old Marcia Lutz turned herself into police back in June after Phyllis Lutz’s body was found buried in the yard of their Leroy Township home.
Now authorities accuse her of embezzling between $20,000 and $40,000 from the First Christian Church in Emmett Township.
Discrepancies in the church accounts were first noticed back on January 17th, which was the same day her mother’s body was located, after Phyllis’s church friends contacted police saying they hadn’t heard from her in months.
