UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) – A new report from Pew Charitable Trusts showed state marijuana revenue is going to be hard to predict, which presents a new issue for lawmakers.
Pew Charitable Trusts Research Officer Alex Zhang said the biggest issue is that the legalization of recreational marijuana is so new that there’s a lot of uncertainty that makes data collection hard to come by and makes revenue unpredictable, leaving lawmakers to struggle with budgeting.
Zhang said the first year is typically the most difficult to forecast, then she said it typically improves.
