BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Battle Creek police are trying to find the persons responsible for flying a Nazi flag at the Lakeview School District’s Riverside Elementary.
The flag was discovered by a work crew Saturday morning.
Lakeview School District representatives told WWMT-TV the American flag was replaced with the Nazi flag sometime during night, adding that the flag pole lock was broken.
Superintendent Blake Prewitt said in a statement that the Nazi flag represents beliefs that in no way reflect our values as a district. He added it is disturbing that an individual would use school grounds as a platform to promote such ideals.
