RICHLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — About 20,000 country music fans are expected to pack the small town of Richland on Friday for Luke Bryan’s 2019 Farm Tour.
It takes place at Stafford Farms at Richland Park with parking opening at 2 p.m., doors at 5 p.m., and the concert at 6 p.m.
From the weather, to parking, to preparing, here’s the latest information for fans heading to the concert.
— “Rain is a Good Thing?” —
Yes, Luke Bryan may sing that “rain is a good thing,” but not when scattered showers are in the forecast for Friday’s concert.
Richland Township Clerk Bear Priest says they’ve prepared for this and the cover crop that has been planted will help prevent the grounds from getting muddy.
According to Bryan’s website, refunds will only be given if the concert is completely cancelled, so fans should plan accordingly.
Kalamazoo County’s Sheriff Department’s permitted item list shows that large umbrellas are not allowed, but small ones can be brought in.
— Patience with Parking —
Fans should plan on arriving to the farm early, and commuters should avoid the Richland area if possible.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller says the roads in Richland are just not made for that kind of traffic, and they’re doing the best they can to get people in and out smoothly.
He recommends entering off of M-89 on 30th Street because that way has the most entrances. He adds that the early arrivers will be the last to leave and the late fans will be the first to exit based on how the lot is set up.
Richland officials say fans could be waiting in traffic for about 2-hours when the concert ends.
Some nearby school districts have half days on Friday so buses can avoid the incoming traffic and commuters should avoid the area if they are not planning on attending the concert.
