BATTLE CREEK, MI – (WTVB) – The scheduled appearances by President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence next Wednesday night at Kellogg Arena is causing many logistical and planning questions.
Kellogg Arena can hold about 6,000 people, but the president’s campaign is anticipating around 10,000 showing up.
Battle Creek officials say that they’re still trying figure out parking for the thousands expecting to flood into downtown, and the police department is prepping to step up security measures during the high profile visit.
The parking structure at McCamley and Hamblin will be closed next Wednesday.
City officials are telling residents and visitors to expect road closures, delays and potential restrictions in and around downtown Battle Creek.
The Kellogg Company is encouraging downtown employees to work from home that day.
