LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Crime statistic data for the year 2019 has been released by Michigan State Police (MSP), along with a new initiative for addressing specific crimes in the new year.
In total, complaints addressed by the MSP in 2019 had increased by around 500 for a total of 5,767 complaints.
However, total traffic stops were down from 9,630 in 2018 to 7,998 in 2019.
MSP officials say that each district creates a plan to address such issues based on the yearly data provided. As a result, MSP will be focusing on reducing crime and traffic dangers in 2020.
In Western Michigan, the MSP Paw Paw post will be focused on issues such as fraud, distracted and impaired driving, speeding, and seat belt enforcement.
