DUBLIN (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Europeanisation of Allegan County’s largest employer continues with its change of leadership.
The generic drug maker Perrigo announced on Monday that Uwe Röhrhoff, the former Chief Executive Officer at Gerreshimer AG, will become its new President, CEO and board member, effective next Monday. He will replace John Hendrickson, whose retirement will take effect on March 15th “to ensure a successful transition,” according to a company statement.
Röhrhoff brings more than a quarter century of experience with the German-based pharmaceutical packager in taking over for Hendrickson, who announced his retirement this past June. Hendrickson helped forge a merger between Perrigo and Elan four and a half years ago, a union that led to Perrigo reforming as an Irish-based firm in order to avoid the high US corporate tax rate, and Hendrickson assumed his leadership duties with Perrigo when Joe Papa left the company in 2016.
Although the company holds corporate meetings in Dublin, Perrigo’s North American operations continue to come from its Eastern Avenue base in Allegan.
