DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — AAA Michigan says gas prices have increased 8 cents a gallon in the last week, despite the fact that gas inventories are higher than they have been in months in the region.
It may be because oil prices are holding near a three-year high. Patrick Dehaan at GasBuddy.com says the price is being held up by continued cuts from OPEC nations and Russia.
The average price in Michigan stands at $2.67 per gallon, about 30 cents more than this time last year.
Brent crude, the international benchmark, was selling at nearly 70 dollars a barrel.
