KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A much larger crowd turned out this year than last for the Women’s March in Kalamazoo.
It was one of over 250 similar marches across the nation and across the world.
They started at the Flagpoles on WMU’s main campus, walked down to Bronson Park taking one route and came back to campus along another route.
They say after a year of Donald Trump and the Republican congress in charge, things have not gotten better, and their focus this year will be getting people to the polls to do something about it.
Because they have had an entire year to plan this year’s event, instead of just three days, the speaker, WMU Engineering Professor Betsy Eller noted that the signs this year are cleverer, and in some cases nastier.
She noted however that that President is still Donald Trump, and that their hope that someone would have briefed him on how a President acts, or that Congress would have taken it upon itself to rein him in, had not transpired.
