COVERT (WKZO AM/FM) — A popular couple in a small lakeshore community have died violently and left their neighbors perplexed and mourning.
Covert Township police are talking with the friends, relatives and acquaintances of Edward and Terese Gorenz, who were found dead at their home in the 72000 block of County Road 376 last Thursday. They are investigating it as a murder/suicide and trying to determine a motive.
Township Chief Jay Allen says they responded to a request for a welfare check on a suicidal person and found the bodies last Thursday.
Both died from gunshot wounds. They were both 60-year-old.
