CHICAGO (WKZO AM/FM) — America’s ”Most Wanted Deadbeat Dad” Joseph Stroup, comes from Van Buren County, owes over half a million in child support, He will appear in a Federal Court in Chicago to begin his prosecution for failing to pay child support.
Stroup was recently found in Alberta, Canada and arrested on a warrant issued by a Federal Judge two decades ago. Espect bond to be set high for the 64-year-old.
When he was first divorced in 1986, he told a Van Buren County Judge that he was disabled and unemployed and ordered to pay just $14 a month in child support.
7-years later, when he sold an internet business for $2-million dollars, his payments were adjusted way up, and in July 1998, he disappeared.
They have finally found him and plan to make him pay, even though his four children are now middle aged adults.
