NEW YORK (WKZO AM/FM) — The latest woman who is reported to have had an extra-marital affair with Donald Trump reportedly grew up in South West Michigan.
“The New Yorker” Magazine says they have evidence that President Trump and his associates covered up a past affair with Karen MacDougal , a Playboy Playmate who was born in northern Indiana.
The Detroit Free Press reports that she grew up in Sawyer in Berrien County, went to Ferris State, before working at a daycare in Detroit.
She was the Playmate of the Year in 1998, and allegedly met Trump at the Playboy Mansion. The magazine obtained an eight-page handwritten account describing a 9-month affair with Trump.
The notes were given to the National Enquirer after they paid her $150,000 for her exclusive story just before the election but they never published.
They now say it was because it wasn’t credible, but the tabloid never asked for their money back.
Author Ronan Farrow claims he was told by several Enquirer employees that owner David Pecker purchased stories that were negative about Trump and spiked them, because the two are friends. It was something they called “Catch and kill” at the tabloid.
The “Wall St. Journal” independently verified and reported on the payment from the Enquirer to McDougal in November of 2016, saying it was about an affair with Trump, but didn’t go any further with the story.’
The White House is denying it. MacDougal says she is under contract not to talk about it, but Farrow says she verified that the notes that were the basis of “The New Yorker” article were hers.
