KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A new policy banning backpacks at Western Michigan University’s Miller Auditorium will take effect April 1, 2018, but apparently it’s no joke.
The entertainment venue at WMU says it is adopting the new bag policy “to enhance the safety of our patrons”.
They say it’s consistent with policies being adopted by other performing arts centers across the nation to deter and prevent terrorist attacks.
Also banned will be any purse that is larger than a small handbag or clutch purse.
Anyone violating the policy may be asked to return the bag to their vehicle.
