PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — Hundreds of Mattawan School Students staged their own walk-out in support of the victims of the Parkland Shooting in Florida.
Others are planned.
Portage Central Student Ashriya Patel got a rare opportunity to announce their plans during the meeting of the Portage City Council after she was elected to be a City Council member-for- a-day earlier this week.
They will participate in a national walk-out at their own school, along with Loy Norrix High and other Schools on March 14th, the one month anniversary of the assault on Stoneman Douglas High.
Patel says they are calling their event a “Walkout Towards Change”.
