KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A community forum was held this week as Kalamazoo County gets ready to issue its own photo Identification card.
The program is set for launch early next month. There are a lot of things that many residents simply can’t do and services they can’t access without photo ID.
Charmelle Abdulah and Tiffany Burns work with clients who can’t open bank accounts, fear calling the police and can’t drive because they can’t provide a birth certificate for a state identification card or driver’s license.
Citizens will still need to present some proof they are residents to get the cards, which will cost $10 and will be good for three years.
