KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Gretchen Whitmer the front runner on the democratic side of the gubernatorial race was in west Michigan this weekend making a variety of campaign stops in the area.
She stopped by Kalamazoo Democratic Headquarters Friday evening and was greeted by a room full of people. She seemed impressed that that big a crowd would turn out on a Friday night during March Madness to hear her speak.
She ran through a long list of issues, from roads to education to women’s choice to generating jobs and school safety, critical of the current administration’s handling of all those issues.
She says it’s sad that the Coalition for School Safety avoided recommending gun reforms simply because we have Republican majorities in the legislature.
She says she is campaigning 12-hours a day because she says while there is a lot of talk of a “blue wave” this November, she says no one should assume that is going to happen.
