ALGANSEE TOWNSHP, MI (WTVB) – The owner of a home in remote Algansee Township in Branch County says she thinks the men who tried to bust into her place on Burlew Road through the door and windows must have been looking for the previous owner, because they have no enemies, and nothing worth stealing.
But the home invaders got a nasty surprise when one of the occupants grabbed a gun and opened fire, hitting one of the suspects in the chest.
A 19-year-old was dropped off at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital with a non-life threatening chest wound, and is now in custody. Two to three others are being sought by State Police.
They say the getaway car appeared to be a green full sized four door Ford, like a crown Victoria or a Marquis. Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police at the Marshall post.
