KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Once again the world of classical music has turned its attention to Kalamazoo, as one of the world’s premiere music festivals is rolling once again.
What makes the Gilmore Keyboard Festival special is the caliber and variety of talent it brings to Southwest Michigan.
Over 4-dozen world class talents will perform over 100 times in various venues around the region, but most of them in Kalamazoo.
It ranges from solo artists to orchestra concerts, from jazz to classical and even one theatrical piece.
The Farmer’s Alley Theatre debuts its production of Liberace on Friday, a pianist who played the classics with style, according to Rob Weiner.
The festival folds together top notch performances, with workshops, educational opportunities and performances in Battle Creek, East Lansing and venues in Kalamazoo from Bell’s Brewery to Miller Auditorium over the next two weeks.
