HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Downtown Holland will benefit from a $4,000 grant for this year’s Street Performer Series.
The entertainers are on Eighth Street from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evenings, from June 14 though August 30 sponsored by Gentex Corporation. The grant, awarded through the Regional Regranting Program, which is a partnership between the State of Michigan through the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and 15 regional re-granting agencies, including the Holland Area Arts Council.
Visitors will find musicians, balloon twisters, jugglers, magicians, acrobats, dancers, caricature artists, face painters and more.
“We are extremely grateful for the continued support of the Michigan Council for the Artsand Cultural Affairs and the Holland Area Arts Council,” said Downtown HollandMarketing Coordinator Kara de Alvare in a statement emailed to media. “Due in large part to their support, the Street Performer Series has easily become Downtown Holland’s signature event.”
The deadline to apply for this year’s Street Performances is Monday, May 14. Participants busk for tips and are paid $20 stipend per appearance.
