HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Michigan Governor Rick Snyder struck an optimistic tone during his final Tulip Time Festival luncheon keynote speech Wednesday, telling the crowd at the DeVos Fieldhouse that Michigan is better than when he took office almost a decade ago.
The Tulip Time Festival, particularly the mid-week luncheon, mark the opening of Michigan’s warm-weather tourism season.
Snyder praised all the “Pure Michigan” offers residents and out-of-state visitors alike. Snyder praised West Michigan for leading the way in the state’s economic recovery, particularly in the low jobless rate in this area.
He touted the recent agreement signed between the state and The Netherlands to work together on automotive initiatives.
Snyder skipped the traditional post-luncheon press conference.
