(BATTLE CREEK) – The City of Battle Creek says a limited number of hen licenses will become available in the city this Monday following the adoption by the City Commission of a revision to the city’s animal ordinance.
At this time, only hens are being allowed on residential properties based on the property size.
Applications for one of 20 hen licenses can be submitted starting at 8:00 a.m. Monday at the Planning and Zoning Office in City Hall.
Staff will accept applications on a first-come, first-served basis.
Those who submit applications beyond the first 20 received will be placed on a waiting list.
The total cost of an initial, three-year permit, is $100.
