KALAMAZOO (WHTC-AM/FM) — The former editor of the Kalamazoo Gazette, James Borden, has died in Western Pennsylvania, according to a Tribune-Review report.
He was 61 and had also worked in Spokane; Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and Colorado Springs before getting hired by the Tribune-Review in 2011.
Bordon, widely respected by fellow journalists, was fondly recalled by them for his dedication to the craft of journalism, his considerable ability to design a newspaper page, his good advice, and his dad-level-bad puns.
He’d just visited Michigan in March, to catch up with his former Gazette colleagues. He’s survived by his wife, three adult children and infant granddaughter.
