KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) –Developers have revealed their plans for a $24-million dollar apartment complex that will be built at the former site of the Public Safety Headquarters and Kalamazoo Courthouse on Rose Street across from the AT & T building.
They are calling it 400 Rose.
Greg Dobson says the four story structure would contain 135 apartments with 77 underground parking spaces and would help satisfy a growing demand for housing.
Monday night City Commissioners approved the sale of the lot to the Developers, giving the plan a thumbs up, but at the same time noting that it will do little to address the city’s need for more low-cost housing.
Work is set to begin on the project this fall.
