HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — This is a free fishing weekend in Michigan.
Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources is allowing anyone who wants to grab a pole and drop a lure today and tomorrow to do so without a license.
The idea is to get more people hooked on fishing, pun intended. The same rules and limits apply, but this weekend, no one needs to buy a license. For the rest of the season, anyone 17 and older needs a license. Those younger do not need a license but must observe catch limits and other DNR fishing rules.
