BRONSON, MI (WTVB) — Branch County Sheriff deputies are releasing the names of the two children killed in a camper fire earlier this week.
First responders were called to a home on Hollow Road west of Bronson Township around 10:30 a.m. Monday to discover the fifth wheel camper engulfed in flames.
2-year-old Faith Gump, 5-year-old Ethan Gump, and the family dog were killed in the fire.
Their father, Chris Gump says he managed to pull his 7-year-old step-daughter from the burning camper, but could not find the other two.
The State Police Fire Marshall is investigating.
At last report, the fire in Bronson Township is under investigation by the Branch County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police Fire Marshal Office.
Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber says the fire is not considered suspicious.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up in hopes of raising $5,000 to help the family deal with funeral and burial expenses.
