TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) – Tekonsha Elementary School Principal and Special Education Consultant Jennifer McGuff claims Superintendent Jeffrey Kawaski sexually assaulted her.
In an interview with WWMT-TV, McGuff claims it happened in March of 2017 at Kawaski’s apartment in Marshall.
No one has been available at the Marshall Police Department to discuss the status of the investigation.
McGruff has also filed a complaint with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission after Kawaski placed McGuff on paid non-disciplinary administrative leave due to alleged workplace misconduct.
The Tekonsha Board of Education decided last month to spend $8,800 on a professional investigator to look into how Kawaski and McGuff have conducted themselves.
Before she came to Tekonsha, McGuff had some legal hassles while working for the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District, where she was charged with allegedly filing false travel expenses, failing to return school materials and overcharging her employer for a tuition payment.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports she entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge of false pretenses between $200 and $1,000. Besides getting a 90 day jail term and being placed on probation for two years, McGuff was ordered to pay over $8,400 in restitution.
