FERRYSBURG (WHTC-AM/FM) — Jillian Kennedy, 35, of Sand Lake Sand Lake started out Saturday bicycling in the Michigan State University’s Gran Fondo. She ended up hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a truck.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Matt Wildfong said the crash happened Saturday 10:55 a.m. in Ferrysburg.
A 65-year-old Spring Lake man, Richard Worel, was driving a truck through the intersection of Oak and Third Street when his truck hit Kennedy .
Kennedy suffered minor injuries, Wildfong said, and was taken to North Ottawa Community Health System, where she was listed in good condition.
Worel told police he didn’t see Kennedy, Wildfong said.
