HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The National Weather Service’s Grand Rapids Office has issued a beach hazards statement, in effect until 7 p.m. today, July 26, 2018, from South Haven all the way north to Ludington.
In addition to rip currents and other dangerous water conditions, waves could reach 5 feet. Strong currents can knock people off their feet, even in more-shallow water. High waves can quickly tire even an experienced swimmer. Area police strongly encourage people around water areas to wear personal floatation devices, which could save lives.
