STURGIS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -Apparently media stories and surveillance photos asking for information about an alleged thief who wore a unique jacket to a bank robbery paid off because a tip has led to an arrest of that suspect.
Sturgis police say the 41-year-old walked into the Sturgis Bank and Trust mid-morning Wednesday, flashing what appeared to be a gun and demanding cash.
Detectives got a tip of who he was and arrested at a retail store in Three Rivers, and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail for bank robbery.
A reward was offered for information that led to his capture and conviction, and that may have also encouraged the tip.
