UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — It looks like Michigan will produce a bumper crop of apples this season.
The U.S. Apple Association say the weather conditions were good for apple growing this spring and summer and the harvest is underway.
They project they will produce about 28-million bushels this year of all the varieties that Michigan orchards produce.
That’s about eight-million more than last year and three more than they produce in a typical year.
Michigan ships its apples and apple products, like sauces, ciders and juices to 27 states and 18 countries around the world.
