HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A beach hazards advisory is in effect for Ottawa, Muskegon, Mason and Oceano counties for the rest of today.
Beachgoers can expect dangerous currents as well as waves up to 6 feet — and National Weather Servie officials are asking people to stay off the piers or risk getting swept away and forget about swimming in Lake Michigan for today, where waves and dangerous currents can exhaust swimmers, making it difficult if not impossible to get back to shore safely.
