BAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) –A high speed t-bone crash between a police SUV rushing to a domestic violence call and a private vehicle has killed a woman and hospitalized the two officers from the Pokagon Tribal Police Department.
The collision occurred at M-140 and Territorial Road west of Benton Harbor in Berrien County just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators say the 69-year-old driver of a Lincoln failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled out in front of the police SUV.
The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The officer at the wheel of the SUV was transported to the hospital by ambulance, the second officer by a Medflight helicopter.
No names or conditions have been released. It remains under investigation.
