HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The kickoff for Holland’s own film and art festival, Tulipanes, is tonight at the Holland Area Arts Council, 150 E. Eighth St. in Holland.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the evening starts at 6 p.m. with a screening of the short film What Happens to a Dream Deferred and includes a converstaiotn with director Scott Boehm and members of the cast.
Tickets cost $50 per person and $90 per couple.

7 p.m. Friday: Pump House Museum, 2282 Ottawa Beach Rd., Holland
The theme, on the power of cultural exchanges within Latin American cultures, includes two shorts, “My Migration (Mi Migración)” and “Misappropriation” as well as the 52-minute feature, Conexiones: Los Cenzontles In Cuba. A Musical Journey of Connection, a documentary on the 2016 Cuban tour by Mexican American roots group Los Cenzontles.
7 p.m. Saturday: Brew Merchant, 442 Washington Ave, Holland
A family bonds and romance theme is showcased by two short films, “Rosario” and “To Infinity” with a feature romantic comedy, “La Boda de Valentina.”
2 p.m. Sunday: Engedi Church, 710 Chicago Dr #100, Holland, MI 49423
Learn about metal tooling and catch two family friendly shorts, “Mariposas” and “La Chanclatera,” then the feature film, “Coco.”
