HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — President Donald Trump’s comments at a rally last night that seemed to mock Christina Blasey Ford, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of attempted sexual assault, has sparked plans for a demonstration here in Holland. Kavanaugh has denied the allegation, but has acknowledged that someone may have assaulted Ford.
A Facebook event called “Believe the Survivors” has called for people to join a candlelight march around Centennial Park from 7;30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018. The page states the march will be a time to recognize survivors’ of sexual trauma to assure them that they are heard and supported.
It’s also a time to, as the page put it “insist that all government officials address sexual trauma in all of the various forums in a substantive and thorough manner.”
Participants are asked to bring signs in support of survivors and expect to have candles provided.
