MUSKEGON (WKZO AM/FM) — A west Michigan man, who was found guilty of second degree murder earlier this year for shooting a friend and then dismembering the body with a chain saw, has been given 40 to 60 years in prison.
He claimed it was a big misunderstanding.
Anthony Blamer Jr. of Fremont claimed the shooting was self-defense and that he panicked and decided to cut off D’Anthony Kennan’s arms and head, and dump them in separate parts of the Manistee National Forest, because he didn’t think anyone would believe his story.
He was right.
He still faces trial in Newaygo County for the dismemberment.
