LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A new video calling for action by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to install a system to permanently block Asian carp from getting past the Brandon Road Lock and Dam in Joliet, Illinois, is being shared by Michigan officials.
They have done studies, generated survey results, Governor Snyder is even offered to pay the share of any other state that is unwilling or unable to chip in to the local match for federal dollars for the project.
Now the video.
The Department of Natural Resources’ Ed Golder says they shared the YouTube video and the link to a petition on its website as part of a continuing effort to get all Great Lakes states to sign on to the project.
Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Ontario and the city of Chicago have, but the state of Illinois hasn’t yet agreed.
