HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — City of Holland residents may somethngs grumble about street closings, traffic, and confused tourists, but the Tulip Time Festival is good for the city’s economy.
According to a joint Tulip Time / Hope College’s Frost Research Center study, the influx of a half-million people infuses this area with $48 million and 800 jobs.
Survey statistics reflect the festival’s popularity, with nearly 65 percent saying they travel to West Michigan to attend the festival and more than half saying they recommend others visit.
Among the best-attended free events: parades, Dutch dance and the artisan market. Visitors typically spent about $134 daily while visiting Tulip Time, according to the survey.

Tulip Time 2019 is set for May 4-12 — and will feature an orange-tinged theme, the national color of The Netherlands.
