GREENVILLE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Usually when you hear about dishonest contractors, it’s their clients who are being bilked.
That was not the case with one West Michigan roofer who had a lot off satisfied customers but tried to cheat Uncle Sam by evading taxes on more than $6-million he earned laying down shingles between 2009 and 2014.
The IRS says 72-year-old John Snyder of Greenville got greedy and now he will have to pay the price.
He was required to pay over 400-thousand in restitution and still owes a lot to cover interest and penalties.
He was also given a year in a federal prison.
