ALLEGAN COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — Allegan County Sheriff’s office has announced charges following the horrific July 17, 2018, crash that killed newlyweds, Holland native Logan Thunderland Allbaugh, 24, and his wife of two weeks, Zeeland native Hannah Mae Kwekel, 22.
The Allegan County Prosecutor’s Office has issued the following warrants for the suspect driver in this case: two counts each of operating while intoxicated causing death, and reckless driving causing death; one count each of operating while intoxicated causing serious injury and reckless driving causing serious injury for Duane McDonald’s injuries; and one count of carrying a concealed handgun, after police found a gun in the suspect’s vehicle.
The statement emailed to media Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2018, indicated the suspect’s name is being withheld until after he is arraigned, which is expected to happen this afternoon. He is currently in Allegan County’s jail.
The July 17 crash, at the intersection of 128th Avenue and Lincoln Road (M-40) in Heath Township, involved three vehicles.
