UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — Flags are flying at half staff for the victims of the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh.
Governor Rick Snyder is joining in on President Trump’s call to lower all Michigan and U.S. flags Monday through sunset on Wednesday, October 31st.
Snyder released a statement saying, “Michigan joins the nation in mourning the lives lost in Pittsburgh…Sue and I send heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and The Tree of Life community as they deal with the aftermath of this senseless tragedy.”
11 people were killed and 6 others were injured during a service at The Tree of Life Synagogue Saturday morning which sparked talks about safety and security at places of worship.
Michigan residents, businesses, schools, local governments and other organizations are encouraged to display the flag at half-staff in memory of the victims.
