HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Police have recovered the body of a missing Park Township man, Demetrius Dushun McKnight Jr., 25, on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 3, 2018 according to a media release emailed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Jake Sparks.
Mr. McKnight was last seen by family members on October 19, 2018. On Oct. 23, police found McKnight’s abandoned vehicle in a parking lot in the 2000 block of Ottawa Beach Road, in Park Township. Police found his body in Lake Macatawa, not far from where they recovered his vehicle.
McKnight’s’ mother was contacted by sheriff’s deputies on Oct. 23, asking them to investigate the abandoned vehicle and expressing concern over the whereabouts of her son.
Sheriff’s Office detectives have been investigating his disappearance since that time and investigators andmarine units had unsuccessfully searched numerous different locations throughout the area and water.
