UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — The “blue wave” could become a reality for Michigan.
Polling results and multiple sources are declaring Democrat Gretchen Whitmer as Michigan’s 49th governor, beating Republican candidate Bill Schuette.
Both candidates campaigned well into the night before election day and took their tours across the state, but it seems Whitmer’s “Fix the Damn Roads” tour helped her pull ahead.
Unofficial results showed Whitmer at 53% with 928,305 votes and Schuette at 44% with 770,948.
