LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The lame duck session of the state legislature will begin soon, and Governor Snyder is making a request of the House and Senate for $371 million in spending.
He’s asking for $183 million to be put into roadwork. He also wants $52 million for construction of a new Soo Lock and $35 million to fix PFAS contamination around the state.
The money comes from online sales tax revenue being collected as a result of the court ruling in a South Dakota lawsuit.
Snyder’s proposal also includes hiring nearly 250 new Child Protective Services workers.
