OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 12-year-old boy is in custody in Ottawa County’s juvenile facility after a car crash on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Christie Wendt.
Police were called to the scene of a car-house crash at 11:11 a.m., near the interestion of Greenly Street and 136th Avenue, in Holland Township.
Witnesses told police they saw the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and turned east onto Greenly from southbound 136th before leaving the road and hitting the wooden steps of a Greenly Street home. The driver fled after the crash; Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies and a Holland police K-9 team located the boy and took him in to custody.
Wendt said no one was injured and the boy’s name is not being released.
