LANSING, MI –The American Red Cross continues to have an emergency need for lifesaving blood amid the ongoing severe blood shortage this summer. Blood donations continue to be critical to meet hospital demand.
Two major blood drives are happening in mid-Michigan this week to help fill the shortage, each sponsored by Tripp’s Auto Shop in Lansing and Jackson:
July 29th – Lansing Center
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
333 E. Michigan Ave,
Lansing, Mich.
July 30th – Michigan Sports Facility
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
3055 Shirley Dr.
Jackson, Mich.
The Red Cross has been distributing about 12% more blood products to hospitals across the U.S. compared to this time last year. The Red Cross needs to collect more than 1,000 additional blood donations each day to meet the current hospital demand and end the severe blood shortage.
Donors of all blood types are needed, especially type O, which stands at just a one-day supply right now. Visit RedCrossBlood.org.
