MICHIGAN (WKZO AM/FM) — Recreational marijuana becomes legal on Thursday, but there will be very few places you can actually smoke it.
If you think restrictions on smoking tobacco are tough, the rules restricting grass go much further.
Most college campuses are smoke free, so no smoking in the dorms.
While you can smoke a cigarette in most public parks and on sidewalks, lighting up a joint will be prohibited anywhere that is accessible to the public.
That includes your front yard and even your front porch if its open and accessible to the public.
You can transport up to 2.5 ounces by car, but you can’t smoke it in a vehicle, just like you can’t have an open can of beer in a car.
Apartment complexes may also impose bans to reduce fire danger, and it’s banned in any federally subsidized housing complex.
That just leaves private homes as the only place it can be smoked.
