HOWARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — An apparent road rage hit and run crash in Cass County led to a police chase and an arrest Thursday night.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to Barron Lake Rd. near Cook St. in Howard Township at around 8:15. A vehicle was approached by another vehicle that tried to ram it from behind. The suspect driver then tried to side sweep the vehicle before driving off.
While deputies were responding to the scene, they spotted the suspect’s vehicle and tried to pull it over. The suspect led a chase and then ditched the vehicle on a side street before taking off on foot. A K-9 tracked the suspect a half-mile into a wooded area and the suspect was located hiding in a child’s tree fort.
They were arrested and it is believed alcohol was a factor in the incident. The victims were uninjured. The suspect’s name is being withheld pending arraignment in 4th District Court.
